thts the angle i didnt even try to look at the movie from. its the basic concept borrowed from the stupendous novels. n its a well-made movie, the car chase was just brilliant. well-acted, just the kinda movie u'd wanna see on a lazy sunday afternoon to pep urself up!

yes...its a very well made movie and i rate the car chase as one of the best ever filmed...(but i rate the one in Italian Job higher than this). another thing i enjoyed was seeing a Sonata chasing a Gypsy in Goa....:D

...but i cudnt help comparing with the novel coz i've read the Bourne series again n again and the story's etched in my mind...:(

dunno why they didnt adapt Ludlum's story.....the novel "Bourne Supremacy" is set largely in Hong Kong/China and wud've made a real kickass thriller....

Tell me about it.I was shocked when I heard they were filming this movie in India.  I mean I love movies to be shot in India but the entire book was based in China/Hong Kong. :D :D

the Carlos angle is missing in the movie series...dunno why...:?

why do they have to find some new stories when the original ones are good enuf..this is the first time i remember this happen....all the other book rip-offs atleast stuck to the original story while diluting it for the screen...

er.. how much did u have to drink b4 u saw the movie? Italian Job sucked big-time n the car chase doesnt even come close to this one. it was definitely one of the best ive seen, in the league of Ronin n the freeway chase in Matrix Reloaded[it was fake alrite, but for sheer excitement!]

do u think they could've been able to adapt tht complete novel into a 90 min. movie? i dun think so. plus, the Carlos angle has been done to death in too many movies to have made for an enjoyable viewing. also, in the context of today's times, they've done a commendable job of showing espionage, world politics. the novels despite being some of RL's best work, have aged.

had some ganna juice AFAIK...:? cummon...the chase with all the VW Beetles was a definite thrill ride but not as violent as this one!

yes..! how did i forget this movie...

fake is right...the whole chase cud've been shot in front of a Blue Screen
azazel wrote:do u think they could've been able to adapt tht complete novel into a 90 min. movie? i dun think so.
y not? so many movies have adapted well to the screen from big novels. just the matter of deciding what to leave out...
azazel wrote:the Carlos angle has been done to death in too many movies to have made for an enjoyable viewing.
aaah....Carlos! i think rather than excitement value, the problem wud've come from the real Carlos (who is now in prison). He'd have sued for royalty

woh tho hai...the movie was a good spy thriller

kaahe ka thrill-ride guruji? it was a pathetic movie with stunts which looked as fake as Britney's boobs. come to think of it, it looked more like a commercial for the Mini's[it wasnt the Beetle :P ] than a movie. i mean, Donald Sutherland has far lesser sceen time than those cars! Ed Norton was WASTED! aaah.. dun remind me of tht  the chase sequence is not only beautifully done, its also friggin realistic. i mean ppl were stunned when it was over, didnt knw whether to shut-up or applaud

that is the headache here, dunya think? there are just so many sub-plots and twists n turns in the novel, i dun think a movie version could do justice to it. lets face it, movie-goers arent going to sit thru a 3hour spy-thriller! they're supposed to be short n deliver the action in that time-frame. adapting a Robert Ludlum novel is pointless in this context.

Which Italian job are u guys talking about?

The first one is excellent movie, the chase in Mini Coopers was good. The one released around last year is nothing compared to the original IJ.
