This fact has probably led most of the above comments. This was the doing of the Second and third Nizam. What does the seventh Nizam have to do with this.

There is no doubt that Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan hold a better position (and were the real tigers of the south) in Indian history then the Nizams.

http://www.boloji.com/history/017.htm

But all of this does not prove that Mir Osman Ali Khan the seventh Nizam was not a visionary :-P

Anyway, that was general gripe. Your link is not working.

It was not about saffronisation, when I said it was a threat to the unity of India, and a larger threat to the globe.

This "changisation" --- (I don't have an appropriate word to this absurdty)of history, beleive me is a threat to the globe. If such maniacs are not stopped, they will ensure the elimination of one and all.

dont talk percentages saar. talk abt. the amount. 11% of 100 is 11

3.75% of 300 is 11.25....

The 11 was helpful in a population of 1 million.

even if you dish out 11.25 (not percent) in 10 million its no good.

- And then no income tax, being salaried living on State security.

There was depth in mgmt there ???

Now you know why people desist that governance. There was no scope for corrupt people probably like them selves.

‘Nizams never interfered in the judicial system’

TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Hyderabad: The judicial system during Asaf Jahi dynasty had all the qualities of the contemporary system of adjudication, dean of Osmania University's law faculty Prof Ahmedulla Khan said.

Delivering a lecture on 'Striking features of administration of justice in Asaf Jahi dynasty' here on Thursday, Khan said there was a clear demarcation among the three wings - legislature, executive and judiciary - of the state during Asaf Jahi time.

"Justice administration was done adhering to the personal laws of respective social groups in Hyderabad state. However, efforts were made to incorporate the latest principles governing the administration of justice system at other places. Scholars were sent to Mumbai, Allahabad and other places to study justice administration, so as to evaluate the performance of judicial system in the Hyderabad state.

"The rulers never interfered in the judicial system and gave all the authority to persons concerned to implement the laws. But they made efforts to unburden general courts by constituting special courts,'' the dean said.

Unreal. I was reading this for research. My g/fs relative was kinda infamous and worked for the Nizam before he was someone (probably the PM) whacked him.

...and had at least 3 names Generale Michel Raymond of Raymonds tomb, Musa Ram and Musa Rahim. Which is why I was reading about the Nizams.

In some ways its a pity those days are gone, tremenous wealth and power but it was almost a dictatorship. You guys are better off in a democracy. What may have been if the British didnt intervene and India didnt split in '47.

By the way if any of you guys know where I can find info on Raymond I would very interested. Please pm me.
