Mujhe yaad hai aaj bhi woh din jab hamaray qaandaan kay sabhi log saal mein ek ya do baar sub mil kar picnic par jaaya kartay the.Ghar par bus aati ,sub ek raath pehlay jaama hotay kisi ek kay ghar ,pakwaan hota raath bhar aur subah saweray bus mein load hotay .Kai naukar aur ek aadh bawarchi bhi saath hota .Mera favorite picnic spot the Gandipet aur Kidwai cottage .Din bhar jhadon kay neechay shatranji bicha kar baithte .Thodi thodi der par chai ka daur chaltha, mard aur aurtaein alag alag baith they lekin chaidh chaadh hoti, paani kheltay ,gaatay bajatay aur saaray mard kabaddi kheltay .bahoth maza aata ,aur qaas baath yeh hoti kay aksar aaisay spots par kai aur families bhi hotay .Aaj kal pata nahin aaisay gatherings haothay hain ya nahin par mujhe family picnics par gaaye huway kafi din hogaye.Aur ek picnic par hum aksar jaatay woh tha nagarjuna sagar, wahaan meri qaala teacher aur qaalu engineer thay .Bada ehtemam hato guest houses reserve kiye jaatay .Mein chahoongi kay aap sub is board par apni apni picnic ki yaadein taaza karein ,chahey woh ghar ki ho yaa school picnic\'s ki.

Hina Didi, this is just amazing. I mean the similarities are just mind-boggling. I remember those school picnics both at Kidwai Cottage and Gandipet. By the way, where is this Kidwai Cottage?? We went there twice in early 60\'s. Nagarjuna Sagar..yes.. My uncle (paternal) was an Engineer there. They lived in the Left Pylon Colony!..Those were the good ole days. Now the favorite picnic spot for us is Shamirpet Resort... and a trip to Dhola re Dhani is always refreshing. Some of our friends have \"Farm Houses\" near Gandipet and a week-end there is just wonderful. Kids love to go the theme parks again and again. Ocean Park is their favorite hunting ground. Yes.. we still go out and have fun at these places. Kuch bhi samajh mein nai aya tho, chalo tank-bund....ya phir necklace road!

Nai aate jaao !! Sob logaan apne apne pairaan(Partners) bana liye haur haat mein haat daal ke ghoomeinge...Paani mein khelinge..Mai aakeyla kya karoonga waan jaake.. kya jhaadon se baataan karoonga..Pehle mere liye koi accha sa SAATHI laao phir sob milke jaayinge... Nai to koi bhi nai jaana.. Piro-giraam Cancel............ Well aadaab to everybody .. during my last visit I have seen lot of new & beautiful parks like Lumini, Necklace Road, NTR Park , even there was a Fighter Air Plane Show in Jan. at Tank bund...Series of Exhibitions in Sec-bad & Hyd. Particularly at Gymkhana. I visited Great Mall of Hyderabad near Hi-Tech city and given an interview on a T.V. show. avcourse with many families when I was very young we used to visit Nehru Zoological Park, Osman Saagar , Himaayat Saagar , & Medak in vacations where my only maternal Uncle working as an Engg. in Water works dept. Very beautiful quarters , parks and a LOT of peace and silence. Several times I encountered with Snakes and escaped with them very narrowly. Hina Di, for sure if U visit Hyd. now you will find it is totally changed ,now you will find a lot of exhibitions every now and then in different places. lot of Parks near Tank Bund & other places.. Like Treasure Island...Happy Homes.. etc etc near Osman Saagar.. U know there is Big Statue of Budda installed in the centre of Tank Bund to attract the foreigners. Tank bund is totally changed from NTR\'s period...Plus a lot of Fun every where. Things are drastically chaning... we have our old picnic spots but new arrivals are also impressive and interesting. But the only thing which you will miss there is \'THAT PUBLIC\'.. A lot of change in their attitude...behaviour...Clothing ... Style.. and many many.... Changes.

Picnic pe jaana hai!

I believe it was 24th of May 1996, (9th of Moharrum). I was in my Chacha\'s house taking care of big home while their whole grand family was gone to Nagarjuna Sagar. It was about maghrib time I stepped out and was sitting in Jannath cafe (LB stadium) chatting with my frieds. A neighbor of my chacha\'s family came running to me and tried to enquire if I heard what he did. A drowned boat in NJ sagar and that some of my uncles family members were in the boat? (there was some confusion here about what really happened) I panicked and ran towards my chacha\'s house, no news by now.
By now I already despatched my friend to control room and newspapaer offices hoping they would know if it was something bad. Then the phone rang, it was a reporter from Eanadu, he asked me if I knew what happened, I replied with no clue. He then literally told me TAKE A PEN, I was frightened, then he started to speak three new names starting with my best friend and brother Taufeeq who I met last night(then) and spent three hrs together, then my elder cousin Ateeq and then our eldest cousin sister Najma and said the bodies of these people were found, dead. guess whats the next thing I heard, that 6 others are missing, oh my ALLAH! Well by end of that night or early next morning we found out that together 7 of my chachas family were gone and a little daughter of the maid. Innallillahi wa Innallahi Rajiuoon. It wasn\'t any boat, it was the water they gush out from the turbines after producing electricity. They were playing in the area where that canal is. They were not aware of this practice. There is a lot to it. I will Inshallah write more. Please pray for this family. And please be careful when you go out with families next.
Needless to say Hina didi I apologize for making your board appear what it appears to be now. This wasn\'t my intention but when I saw this board and started to read I couldn\'t just stop, sorry again.

Dear Faheem ,I\'m sorry to hear about the tragedy and death of your family members . May allah give you strength .Now that you have written I remember my aunt and uncle mention about this incident to me when I went in 1999 . Whenever I go from here on vacation I always visit my aunt and uncle. They always take us to the river and as close to the water as possible , because everyone enjoys that, specially the kids . It is very sad that the Indian govt. does\'nt take much precautions in these kind of tourist spots.
